2003 – 2004 SCHOOL BUS ROUTES

Please take special note of the bus routes this year as there are changes that have had to be made as a result of road closures due to the flood. Area highway departments, including those who were not affected by the flood are to be commended for their commitment and efforts in making timely repairs to our roads and bridges. Many have sent manpower and equipment to assist in making needed repairs. Chuck Carlson, Town of Nunda Highway Superintendent, is keeping me informed about road repairs and is committed to accomplishing as many repairs as possible before school starts. Buses will travel any open road that is necessary, although some roads conditions may be less that ideal for a period of time until final repairs can be accomplished. Buses will not travel any segment of road that is declared closed with the exception of the partial closure of Brokaw Road. Road conditions are improving daily and will continue to improve as time goes on. Please be aware that changes in routes may be necessary as needed repairs are accomplished. My department will work diligently in keeping affected families informed of needed changes.

All students in grades 6-12 who live in the village of Nunda must walk to the Junior-Senior High School building. Elementary students who walk to the Nunda bus circle to ride a bus to Dalton should be at the bus circle between 7:45 and 7:50 am.

If you drive your child(ren) to school please drop them off in front of the school buildings. The school bus circles must be kept clear for buses to unload. Remember it is unlawful to pass a stopped school bus when the red lights at the top front and rear are flashing, even in school bus circles and parking lots.

Below is a list of the bus routes for the 2003-2004 school year. Be sure to have your child(ren) at the bus stop at least ten minutes early for the first few days of school because routes are unsettled. These routes and pickup points are tentative and may be changed as needed. ROUTE #1 BUS #100 DRIVER - Linda Haley

Leaves the Keshequa Bus Garage at 6:55 a.m. heading north on Rte 408. Picking students up on Rte 408, turning right onto Barron Rd., turns around at the McClements residence and returns to the intersection of Rte 408. Turns right onto Rte 408 and turns around at the Ridge Restaurant. Travels south on Rte 408 turns right onto Short Tract Rd., turns left onto Cole Rd., turns left onto Rte 408, turns left onto Wildey Rd., turns around at the Moran residence and returns to Rte 408.
